so yeah if you want to get engaged come by my roommate because i'm a lucky charm apparently. so yeah kyle officially proposed to melissa today. she's got her blingin' ring now. woot woot.
so sarah and jeff are getting married on may 20th and she'll become a marble and melissa and kyle are getting married on may 21st and she'll become a cannon. i think it's funny that both of their soon-to-be last names are like real things. they're both getting married in the mount timpanogas temple. it's a really pretty one. they're not having a joint reception in utah though, but i think their texas receptions will be together. so yeah happy day for them.
i went on a date tonight. it was fun. i got asked on two dates actually. random huh? the guy driving got a speeding ticket. kind of funny. he was embarrassed, but no one cared, i mean it's not like anyone in the car had never sped before. i was with ken and we doubled with suzy and reed. suzy was wearing the cutest shoes i've ever seen.
i just pre-ordered the incredibles online. i'm excited to get it. it has a special feature on it where you find out what jack jack's powers are.

can i get a whoop whoop?! i am so excited!!!!

la de da de da

so i totally missed the bus today. i went to a international student party last night and didn't get home until like almost one and then i had readings i had to do for class today so i got to bed a little late. then i had class at eight so i had to get up at 6:20 (brutal). so yeah so i got to go home after my nine o'clock class and i didn't have anything until my one o'clock class so i decided to catch a little shut eye. hmm... but yeah i didn't have time to shower this morning because i woke up at 6:20 and reset it for 6:40 but i didn't get out of bed until 7:10 and the bus leaves at 7:20 so i only had seven minutes to get dressed and my backpack packed. so i came home after my classes and napped and showered and BRUSHED MY TEETH (omg it felt so good). so then i go out to the bus BUT IT CAME EARLY! grr. so i'm half a block away from the stop and it just wizzes by. suck. so... i have to walk to campus. it took me half an hour. so that should have upset me right? NO! today was so darn beautiful! i sang the entire way (which got a few stares lol) and i wanted to skip but my backpack was weighing me down. (you'll have that i suppose) it was sunny and warm and springtimey. i could almost pretend that i was in indiana, but then i realized that there were mountains in the background and utah isn't green enough to be indiana. i can't be unhappy in weather this nice though.

from diana . . .

not to be a feminist or man-hater but my friend diana sent this to me and i'm sure half of you have already read it but it's funny/cute...

It is good to be a woman:
1. We got off the Titanic first.
2. We can scare male bosses with the mysterious gynecological disorder excuses.
3. Taxis stop for us.
4. We don't look like a frog in a blender when dancing.
5. No fashion faux pas we make, could ever rival the Speedo.
6. We don't have to pass gas to amuse ourselves.
7. If we forget to shave, no one has to know.
8. We can congratulate our teammate without ever touching her rear end.
9. We never have to reach down every so often to make sure our privates are still there.
10. We have the ability to dress ourselves.
11. We can talk to the opposite sex without having to picture them naked.
12. If we marry someone 20 years younger, we are aware that we will look like an idiot.
13. We will never regret piercing our ears.
14. There are times when chocolate really can solve all your problems.
15. We can make comments about how silly men are in their presence because they aren't listening anyway.

now i realize that all guys and women are not like the characteristics outlined in the above list, but it's funny so don't be offended boys (please)

and my grandmother emailed me this one... forgive me for the language (can you believe my grandma sent me this? boling, not homer)

gr frustrated

don't you hate it when for no reason you just want to cry and nothing seems to be going right but you don't have the words to explain what you're feeling and no reason to back up why you're feeling what you're feeling?
i do.

can i get a whoop whoop?

yeah so my eye infection is almost gone and i'm so happy! it's completely not swollen anymore. now it's just all red. which is weird because it doesn't hurt anymore, but hey since it's not hurting i am sure not going to complain. ah, life is wonderful. i'm trying not to think about the fact that this is my last day of no school until the semester ends, but hey i'm half way done. i can totally make it! totally. check out the beds on c work's blog. they're pretty boss. i'm glad that i didn't go to idaho now. i didn't go because i had to much homework to do, but if i had decided to go anyway i would have been miserable because of my eye. saturday night my friends kept calling me to go out and do stuff but i couldn't stop crying because my eye hurt so bad so i'm glad that i was able to be at home and vege in my misery.

i want spring :)

dawson's creek

"i'm going to tell you i love you. which is actually a pretty good deal. because it means i'll do anything on the off chance that it'll make you a little less sad."

awwww... ladies, can you handle it?

oh man.

so i went to bed last night this morning at six a.m.
crazy go nuts.
we went to slc to go dancing and went to a huge latin dance in one of the stake centers there. it was a valentine's day dance apparently for the spanish speaking wards or whatever and i went with a bunch of friends. it was a dress up dance and they wouldn't let two of my friends in because the girl was wearing black dress up pants and the guy wasn't wearing a tie with his dress up clothes. one of our other friends sneaked them in through a side door (there were people watching at all of the main doors to turn you away if you weren't dressed up enough). my friend wearing pants was sitting down one song with her jacket on her lap and the girl sitting next to her was wearing pants and a chaperone came over and made the girl with the pants leave, but didn't see that my friend was wearing pants under her jacket. now this all sounds kind of nazish but to make it even worse there were girls there that were allowed in even though they were immodest! their dress lines were down really, really far and some of the dresses lacked straps or were halter tops. it was insane that they let immodesty in but not people just lacking a tie. it was like hypocrisy to the max in the middle of slc in a stake center. sad stuff.

hair cut and etc.

so i got my haircut again. i really just blended the layers together and added some bangs on the side. it's pretty much the same length (except for a trim of course) because I really am trying to be faithful to the whole growing it out idea.
i'm so frustrated with some of my friends right now. i'm frustrated because my best friend and i can't seem to get along. two of my other friends i'm frustrated with because all they do is tease me and they will not stop.
i have my waltz test today... wish me luck!

dia de namorados

thank you special someone for making my day special.

"I know it's a cornball thing, but love is passion, obsession, someone you can't live without. If you don't start with that, what are you going to end up with? I say fall head over heels. Find someone you love like crazy and who'll love you the same way back. And how do you find him? Forget your head and listen to your heart... Run the risk, if you get hurt, you'll come back. Because the truth is, there is no sense living your life without this. To make the journey and not fall deeply in love -- well, you haven't lived a life at all. You have to try. Because if you haven't tried, you haven't lived... Stay open. Who knows? Lightning could strike."

dance comp.

so the international mock dancesport was tonight. reed came in third in the waltz out of everyone and didn't make it out of the first round of samba. the interesting thing about this competition is that we don't get to pick our dance partners (but we will for the real dancesport). so... there were 120 couples in the bronze latin division (rhumba) and 90 couples in the bronze standard division (waltz). i made it through three rounds in the waltz and through four rounds in the rhumba. so i'm pretty happy with how many call backs i made. i didn't expect to get out of the first round on either one so i'm pleased. :) i can't wait until the real dancesport. at that i'll be competing in samba and the quickstep. how exciting... no, actually the exciting part is that part of dancesport is the nationals competition. the first and second place winners will be the american representatives in the global/universal/all countries (whatever) ballroom dance competition. that means they are going to be so good. i love watching good people do amazing things on the dance floor!

remember, ginger roberts did everything fred astaire could, but in high heels and backwards...

oh man

so... my roommate/cousin melissa and kyle are officially finally boyfriend and girlfriend. they dated four years ago and then broke up because kyle got scared of commitment. they have officially been best friends for the past four years and finally after loads of fasting he's finally asked her to be his girlfriend. i think it might be more than that soon though... i wonder if i'll need to be looking for two new roommates next semester. it's been amazing to watch the change in him and the change in their relationship. kind of scary though, but hey i could handle getting married in four years... 23/24 that could be sweet.

an additional love fest is that one of my best friends from indiana, sarah jackson, flew out here this week and she's spending the next two nights at my house. of course since she is here jesse is here too and i pretty much can't stand how happy they are. well i can stand it, but it's just amazing to me. i've seen sarah go through a few guys and none have ever made her act this happy and silly before. it's amazing how comfortable they are with each other.
i'll find that eventually... all in good time

i know i was supposed to talk about the weekend... it was basically just dancing. super fun good times.

quick quote

so c work showed me a super cool site and here's a quote from it:
No man is truly married
until he understands
every word his wife is NOT saying.

yeah... good stuff. a little bit of food for thought on that one.
i promise i'll write more later but i have to go shower and go to class but there will be more later because this weekend is going to be crazy go nuts!!
love and kisses!

new people

so i danced with my dance partner for the waltz competition for the first time today. his name is derrick. we flow okay. he randomly served his mission in manaus so he knows portuguese.
i don't have my rhumba dance partner yet for that competition so cross your fingers for me that i can get a partner that can dance... and that i feel comfortable dancing the "dance of love" with... okay that will never happen but we can always hope.
i talked on the phone today for about an hour with a guy that i met on line last week. so that's pretty weird. i can't believe we had that much to say to each other, but we never ran out of topics.
i was supposed to get two phone calls from actual people i know and love but they stood me up, cellularly speaking... (i still love 'em though i'm sure they had good reasons)
my hand is infected. sad story.
i'm thinking about maybe being an english teacher. i know i've changed my major a gazillion times, but isn't that half of what being a freshman is really about?

a life without dance is not a life worth living.
and michael vartan is attractive. watch alias.

fun filled action packed weekend

yeah so... a bunch of somethin' goin' on!

FRIDAY: i took my physical science exam and did horribly. then i went to dance in concert. i was amazed. i laughed - i cried - i went home happy. it was seriously mind blowing. my mind was blown. i cannot imagine what it would be like to be able to move my body with the control and grace that they do. if the showing for saturday hadn't been sold out i would have paid to fly my friends from indiana down to watch it. then i called my friend moroni and he picked me up and took me over to his house where i was the only person not natively fluent in spanish. luckily my brazilian friend renata joined us later with christian so i could at least speak to someone in portuguese. it was fun though. we ate mexican food and turned his family room into a salsa party. then we watched a movie and i didn't get home until 3:30. sometimes i'm so sick of not having my own car because i'm so dependent on other people and i never get to come and go when i want. anyway.
SATURDAY: robbie's birthday was on thursday. as he is a fellow muncie staker it seemed appropriate to give him a night out on the town. we went to see the music man. i was very impressed. the dancing was so much better than i expected it was good enough to be a movie, not a college performance. then we went to the brick oven and that was tasty. we went to the BYU men's volleyball game (we're #3) they played ucla (#1) they had beaten them friday night, but they lost when we went on saturday. then we chilled at my house for an hour and went to go see phantom of the opera with kyle, lissa, and a bunch of their cronies. phantom of the opera was amazing. i bought the soundtrack today. i was so shocked that i liked it. i usually always like the original best, but this one does not pale in comparison to the broadway play. at first i didn't like the voices, but by the end i was sucked in and thought it was all amazing. i recommend it to everyone.

in fact i recommend my whole weekend to everyone. you guys should try it! :)

oh yeah and suzy and i had an epiphany today and i discovered why i don't have a boyfriend!!! shocking the brilliance that strikes you in the middle of jazz dance...
