7 Months!

Today is March 8! I have officially completed seven months, and I have only have two more to go before it is Jill Time! :)

I was thinking about the pregnancy woes and joys I had catalogued in an earlier blog post, and I have a few to add now that I am four weeks into the third trimester.

Pregnancy Woes
• Swollen ankles
• Symptoms of carpal tunnel syndrome
• Jill's increased strength and activity

Pregnancy Joys
• Jill's increased strength and activity
• Having baby clothes (picturing Jill wearing them)
• Seeing not just like random pokes, but actually watching her move from one side of me to the other

Basically, I'm just happy to know she's alive and coming. :)

It is a little crazy to think about how different my life will be in a few short months: baby, nursing, no sleep, Jeff graduating, moving (somewhere), etc.

As someone who likes to plan every detail and be in control of everything (I even calendar past events, just so they're on my calendar!), it has been a test of faith to kind of sit on my hands and accept that God can do a much better job with my life than I can, and I need to just move forward in faith even though I am marching toward so many unknowns and uncertainties. I can do it though! :)

The Quote My Online Scripture Reading Gave Me Today
"You exercise faith by . . . making your mind accept or believe as truth that which you cannot, by reason alone, prove for certainty."
—President Boyd K. Packer, Ensign, November 1994, page 60.

  1. Wow, I can not believe how fast your pregnancy is going. (haha, easy for me to say, right?) You look great and I can't believe little Jill will be here in 2 short months! You do have a lot of life changes ahead, but they are all wonderful changes! Waiting is the hardest part...

I set up the bed in the guest room today with you and Jeff in mind. I am so sad I am going to miss your visit, but I am still excited for you guys to come! :)

  2. Colorado is always a great place to live...you know, somewhere close to me... :) Not to mention the awesome airport that's close by and can get you to see your family, or get your family here...

    Just throwing that out there.

  3. Hehe, it would be cool to live in Colorado, but we're trying our hardest to make it back near our families (who live in Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, and Michigan). :) If we drive back though, I'd love to stop and say hi! :)

Brooke, it is easy for me to say it's going fast, too! I really feel like I just found out that we were pregnant. :) Time is flying for me!

  5. I'm so excited for you to be a mommy!!! You're almost there! It took 2 months, but the book is on its way to you; you should get it in a few days.
You look adorable by the way! It's hard after the baby comes because you no longer have that adorable tummy; quite the opposite actually, but that beautiful little girl will make up the difference. Hooray for little baby girls!!!!!!!!

  6. Be grateful you're not mega-pregnant in the late summer because the swelling is everywhere, not just the ankles, and it hurts SO badly!!! I'm planning the next pregnancy better!(Around summer and RSV season).
How much have you gained? I gained 40 lbs.!!! Amberlee is due in 4 weeks and has only gained 13! Her doctor is actually pleased. The rest of us are nervous for that little baby.
Give Jill a smooshy smoosh for me!

  7. I am definitely grateful that I am not pregnant during the summer or having a baby during RSV season. :) Last year, I was starting to get nervous, because I had hoped to have an April baby, so I could avoid both completely (it might be a little warm in May), and I was starting to think that I might have to go back on the pill, so I didn't have to be pregnant during the summer! (I don't know if I would have or not; I think my desire to have a baby would have outweighed my desire for comfort haha.)

At my last checkup, I had gained 15 pounds, and I've got eight weeks left to go, so my doctor is pretty pleased as well.

    Wow! Amberlee must be tiny!

I'll definitely smoosh Jill and let her know it's a love smoosh from Aunt Mindee. :)
