I wrote this poem as I rode home from the airport upon returning to Mexico after a month and a half of visiting friends and family in the US.
MOVE
Amor por todos lados.
Que suerte tengo—con hogares
en ambos.
Mi vida es
Michigan lakes and mountains
Indiana cornfields as far as the eye can see
Ohio River and rolling hills
Midwestern big skies
Switch.
Walls of color
Buildings scraping the skies
Music playing from every side
Delicious tacos at the corners
Te echo de menos mis piezas de los EEUU
Te encanto, México bello
Mira, güey, regresamos.
Ahorita empieza el último año.
Estoy casi lista
pero
mi vida nunca
espera.
Let’s go!
