Bucky Katt Calls 'Em Like He Sees 'Em

So, as many of you know, I pretty much love Get Fuzzy. They've gotten me through some hard times in the past. :) This past week's strips made me think of national anthems in a whole new light. Oh, Bucky. You went there!

I would like to say that I personally do not dislike the national anthems of any of these countries. I had actually never heard Italy's, Japan's, or France's before these comics came out. So, while Bucky is insulting, he has raised my awareness, and I take him for what he is: a little ignorant bigot, so please do not take Bucky's opinions for my own. My feelings run closer to Rob's.

  1. I hate to admit it, but I didn't get the first few ones. But, favorite lines from the others:
Hey Peru, what you looking at?
telling Belgium "we know where you live"
    and
"keeping Moldova on its foreign little toes."

  2. I'm so glad you posted this--it's been killing me! I never thought of national anthems as tools for war-mongering, but Bucky has made me see them in a whole new light. The last couple of days' have been really funny, too.

Oh, Get Fuzzy. What would I do without you?
