Wirthlin Quote

"If you feel that Heavenly Father is not listening to your petitions, ask yourself if you are listening to the cries of the poor, the sick, the hungry, and the afflicted all around you."
—Joseph B. Wirthlin, "The Law of the Fast," Ensign, May 2001, 73

The man, and by that I mean inspired man of God, has a very valid point. One, God helps those who helps others (and themselves). Two, I think when you help others, you are more likely to accept help yourself. God may be sending earthly angels that you're ignoring. Three, I pretty much always agree with what Wirthlin has said. Four, your problems might go away by serving someone else, because you'll just feel happier.

  1. I saw these verses yesterday and thought of them when I saw your post...
    Galations 6:7-8
Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.
For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

The Golden Rule that we have always heard as a child, do unto others as you would have them do unto you; but taken a step further. In order for you to have happiness in you life and eternal life, care for those who can use the extra attention.
