Warren Barfield—Love Is Not A Fight

So, there is a really worthwhile movie out right now called Fireproof. I am so excited about it. It is a movie that actually agrees with how I feel about marriage, love, etc. Amazing, right?

Anyway, the song below is used in the movie, and I really like it. Here are the lyrics:

Love is not a place
To come and go as we please
It's a house we enter in
And then commit to never leave
So lock the door behind you
Throw away the key
We'll work it out together
Let it bring us to our knees

Love is a shelter in a raging storm
Love is peace in the middle of a war
If we try to leave may God send angels to guard the door
No, love is not a fight but it's something worth fighting for

To some, love is a word that they can fall into
But when they're falling out
Keeping that word is hard to do

Love is a shelter in a raging storm
Love is peace in the middle of a war
If we try to leave may God send angels to guard the door
No, love is not a fight but it's something worth fighting for

Love will come to save us, if we'll only call
He will ask nothing from us, but demand we give our all

Love is a shelter in a raging storm
Love is peace in the middle of a war
If we try to leave may God send angels to guard the door
No, love is not a fight but it's something worth fighting for

I would fight for you, would you fight for me?
It's worth fighting for.

  1. I know what you mean. It seems like it took forever for Preston to come, but now it seems like we've had him forever. I would always try to picture what he would look like in my head. I still do that and wonder what our other kids will look like. It's truly amazing when you do get to see your baby the first time and it's so fun to see Preston change too. I wonder what he'll be like when he's our age... maybe I think too much. Anyway, in regards to your post we watched fireproof last weekend and LOVED it! I keep telling everyone I know to watch it. It's not very often (or ever) that you see a movie with values at all and I thought this one had a perfect mix of humor, drama, and mushiness. Thanks for posting about it. Maybe I'll have to as well. Sorry about the super long comment...
