So, I'm sure you've heard from someone or seen the news and know about the hurricanes. I hope the only casualties end up being trees and power lines. It would be sad to lose friends and families in another hurricane so recently after Katrina. However, I am not sure why you would want to live somewhere where there are hurricanes. I mean, natural disasters happen everywhere, but it seems like major hurricanes, earthquakes, volcanoes, etc. those are things you should try to avoid when trying to choose where to settle. Perhaps those people didn't choose though, and they've lived there their whole lives and don't want to move. That would make sense. I can understand keeping you roots where you're from.

I'm sorry if I sound heartless. When people die, I feel sad for the others left behind, but dying (if you're ready) really isn't that bad of a gig. You're done—you win—you crossed the finish line. It's only the people still on earth that I am sad for, because you miss them and no longer have their support.

Anyway, I'm starting to wonder if the hurricanes will affect our cruise. They haven't yet, because the cruise is still a week away, but I've looked at some of the cruises this week and they've been rerouted and changed. They get from 25 to 50 percent back on the purchase and that much of a discount on a future cruise though, so that seems like a good deal.

Our shore excursion in Freeport involves kayaking and hiking. I am excited to see the landscape and nature there. I've heard it's beautiful. Then in Nassau, we'll be snorkeling and feeding/petting sting rays. The cruise boat will be stopped in Nassau for a long time though, so I think we have about 5 hours of free time to wander around the city. I suppose we'll find a beach or window shop or walk around if there are pretty churches and old buildings to look at. Any suggestions? Specifically Rinna, if you read this? :)

  1. Hi there! I will have to think up a list for you to go see if you're going to be there for 5 hours. You'll most likely dock close to Bay Street where there are cool stores to shop (good perfume is duty-free too). I'll email you the list of recommended places to visit.

  2. Haha thanks Rinna! You don't have to if you're too busy, but I remember you asked me earlier where in the Bahamas I would be, and now I know! :)
